Our bilingual kindergarten Joki Harlaching

Overview

Joki Harlaching is a little gem. In the previous silo of the Kraemer mill, the children experiencea quiet oasis in the middle of a big city. The rush of the Auer millstream and the charm of the old mill building bring a special atmosphere to this nursery. The rooms on the ground and first floor are bright, spacious and furnished to a high standard. Each group has its own room and a separate sleeping room that can also be used for other activities.

True to our motto „ we provide your child a home from home“, the group room is fitted with its own small kitchen, so that we can cook, bake, wash and clear up, just like at home.

The nice, rambling garden with various play equipment and sand pits is used exclusively by us. The children can make lots of discoveries about nature in this 900 m2 plot. On our outings we can explore the Isar which is in walking distance, the sheep on our neighbour`s field and the nearby zoo.

Further details about the history of this lovely, unusual area can be found here.

Bilingual care from the beginning: Alongside our German speaking carers, the kindergarten group will normally have an English speaking carer who will introduce the children to their language and culture through fun and games. Using the Immersion method, our native speakers speak with the children solely in their mother tongue. The aim is not to teach the children a language in a school-like way, but rather that they should come into contact with a foreign language, songs and games.

Our own cook receives special intensive training about the nutritional needs of young children. She prepares all meals fresh each day and appropriate for the age of the children. Therefore, it is not necessary to bring any snacks to the nursery. The menu can be adjusted for children with allergies.

We are looking forward to welcoming your child and you at Joki Harlaching!

Impressions

Bilingual group

Joki offers an exceptionally high staff to child ratio. In each group 3-4 carers look after 25 children from the age of 3 until they start school.

Alongside our German speaking teachers, normally an English speaking carer introduces the children to their language and culture through fun and games. Using the Immersion method, our native speakers speak with the children solely in their mother tongue. The aim is not to teach the children a language in a school-like way, but rather that they should come into contact with a foreign language, songs and games.

Through this the intercultural competence of the children is encouraged, which prepares them for a globalised world. Additionally their brains will be trained according to well-founded scientific findings without any pressure of a particularly intensive form. A high mental flexibility results all the more, the earlier and more consistently the child finds itself in a multilingual environment. You can find further information at www.fmks-online.de.
