Joki is part of AcadeMedia – northern Europe’s largest education company

AcadeMedia creates opportunities for people to develop. The 15,000 employees at our 600 preschools, compulsory schools, upper secondary schools and adult education centres share a common focus on quality and development. Our 160,000 children and students are provided with a high quality education, giving them the best conditions to attain both learning objectives and their full potential as individuals. AcadeMedia is Northern Europe´s largest education company, with locations/facilities/presence in Sweden, Norway and Germany. Our size gives us the capacity to be a robust, long term partner to the communities we serve.

Focus on quality

Our fundamental philosophy is that quality pays off. If everything we do is not of the highest quality, our students would change educators and those in the process of selecting an education coordinator would go with other providers. Our preschools, compulsory schools, upper secondary schools and adult education centres are independent but they share the same quality requirements and standards.

Each of our schools has its own unique ethos. The parents of a child who is about to start preschool don’t choose Vittra because Vittra is part of AcadeMedia, they choose Vittra because they want their child to go to a Vittra preschool. The same thing goes for a student in the 9th grade who wants a good upper secondary education with a focus on IT. He or she will choose IT-Gymnasiet, NTI-Gymnasiet or LBS.

Size matters

Each of AcadeMedia’s education companies are part of a larger group. We benefit from this by centralising some of our resources. This enables us to lower our administration costs and we can allocate extra resources when needed.

Due to our size we can also run a comprehensive, quality system based on our AcadeMedia Model. In addition, our size makes us less sensitive to temporary changes in numbers of students attending our schools.

AcadeMedia’s total revenue for 2016/17 was 9.5 billion SEK and the net profit was 416 million SEK. AcadeMedia is a publicly listed company with EQT as the largest shareholder. Other large shareholders in AcadeMedia include the family-owned company Mellby Gård, Andra AP-fonden, Lannebo Fonder, ODIN Fonder and Swedbank Robur. AcadeMedia pays normal corporate tax in Sweden.
